Big Red Roos

Red kangaroos are among the finest of all animal athletes. They need to be – the vast Australian Outback is one of the most inhospitable places on Earth. Temperatures soar to over 120 degrees in the shade. Unpredictable weather patterns swing from violent storms to drought. Swarms of deadly insects bring disease and death. Still, kangaroos have found a way to thrive. Human settlers have come and gone, seeking gold, raising sheep, but ultimately defeated by the place itself. Yet, the intervention of mankind has made the Outback more habitable for the kangaroos. Manmade water holes and the grasses that once kept sheep alive have become precious ongoing resources, supporting not only the roos, but all the wildlife that manages to survive here.
